Polish poster artist Prof. Lech Majewski is coming to Sofia especially for the finale of the poster exhibition "Visionaries". The exposition of students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw will be closed on February 15 at the Polish Institute in Sofia, the hosts announced on Monday.

The Polish Institute told BTA that Prof. Majewski will give a lecture-presentation to students at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia.

"The exhibition includes posters, the result of improvisation on various themes - philosophical reflections, specific people or situations or the most ordinary things. The great advantage of these works is the fact that they provoke young people to think about what it is to be a visionary," says the Polish Institute in Sofia.

Prof. Lech Majewski is a specialist in publishing and advertising graphics, posters and drawing. In 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a professor at his alma mater and teaches at the Graphic Design Studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, of which he is currently Dean. He specializes in publishing and advertising graphics, but has been associated with poster art for the longest time. He has participated in numerous poster presentations and competitions around the world, and has won many prestigious awards and prizes, including the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice, the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, and the International Poster Salon in Paris.

Lech Majewski is Doctor Honoris Causa of the J. Е. Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic and winner of the prestigious Ladislav Sutnar Prize of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He is the author of the logo of Polish Institutes around the world.
