Theatre, cinema and jazz are among the highlights of the programme of the 39th edition of the Apollonia Festival of Arts on August 30. 

There will be two literary premieres at the Art Gallery in Sozopol. Ciela Publishing House will present the memoirs The Untold Story of a Bulgarian German by Ivan Iliev and the novel Ekstasis by Radoslav Bimbalov.

The Good Driver is the title that will be presented in the "Bulgarian Cinema" category in the festival programme today. The film is directed by Tonislav Hristov. The screenplay is by Kaarle Aho, Tonislav Hristov and Konstantin Bojanov, and the cinematographer is Orlin Ruevski. While trying to make up for his mistakes and show his wife and son that he's a changed man, Ivan, a Bulgarian taxi driver, understands that there are many ways to prove one's worth. The roles in the film are played by actors Malin Krastev, Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, Slava Doicheva, Alma Poysti and Amos Brotherus. 

Classical music and jazz are provided for the musical part of Apollonia during the third day of the festival. The piano duo Plamena Mangova - piano and Alexander Somov - cello will play for the audience in the Archaeological Museum of Sozopol.

The final concert of the evening is the performance of the jazz sextet of Joseph Tsankov. The musical event is called "Intimate and Yozhi". The sextet includes Mikhail Yosifov - trumpets, Dimitar Lolev - saxophones, Veleslav Stoyanov - trombones, Milen Kukosharov - piano, Daniel Febbo - bass/contrabass and Atanas Popov - percussion.

The Arts Festival in Sozopol continues until September 5.
