site.btaUPDATED Protest Against Euro Adoption and Government Calls Held in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv

A protest against the adoption of the euro as Bulgaria’s official currency and calling for the government’s resignation took place on Saturday in the area between the National Assembly and the President’s administration building in Sofia.

The demonstration was organized by the Vazrazhdane political party, the September 23 Movement, and the Front for the Lev initiative. During the protest, participants were also collecting signatures for a national referendum on the adoption of the euro.

At the same time, Vazrazhdane members and supporters protested against the adoption of the euro in Varna and Plovdiv.
