site.btaAgriculture and Food Minister, Trade Unions Sign Agreement to Increase Funding for Staff in Ministerial Structures

Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria's (CITUB) Federation of Independent Trade Unions in Agriculture, Podkrepa Confederation of Labour's National Federation of Agriculture and Forestry and Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov signed on Monday an agreement on an increase of funds for personnel costs starting from July 1, 2025, Tahov said at a briefing after the meeting. The personnel costs in the Agriculture Regional Directorates will be increased by 20%, in the Hail Suppression Agency - by 15%, the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture - by 15%.

According to Tahov, the aim is to contribute to reducing disparities in the above systems and structures.

Earlier in the day, employees of the state forestry and hunting enterprises protested on Trakia Motorway. The protest ended without traffic being stopped as planned. CITUB President Plamen Dimitrov said that Tuesday's protest will not take place.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food is committed to present and try to defend to the Ministry of Finance the additional funds needed, and the trade unions are committed to inform their members about the agreements reached and to follow up on this commitment.
