Cars belonging to an inspector from the General Labor Inspectorate (GLI) in Montana, northwestern Bulgaria, were set on fire on Saturday evening, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov said in a press release.

"I stand behind every conscientious employee," Gutsanov noted in his position. "GLI Executive Director Ekaterina Asenova is in constant contact with the Interior Ministry. Police responded immediately and are working to determine the motive behind this act," he added.

Gutsanov said he had spoken with the inspector as soon as he was informed of the incident, assuring them that he will "protect every employee of the Labour and Social Policy Ministry who carries out their duties responsibly."
