On Saturday, November 1, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will attend the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President’s press secretariat said Friday. The event, a key act of Egypt’s cultural diplomacy, is expected to bring together heads of state, monarchs, and government leaders from around the world.
The opening, described as Egypt’s most significant cultural event in a century, will be hosted by President el-Sisi and his wife Entissar Amer, who will welcome the official guests. President Radev will be accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva for the evening ceremony on November 1.
The idea for the Grand Egyptian Museum dates back to the 1990s. Conceived as the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization, it will house tens of thousands of artefacts, including the entire collection from Tutankhamun’s tomb, displayed together for the first time.
