Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh on Thursday presented awards to the finalists of the first international competition for tourism posters dedicated to Bulgaria, as part of the International Triennial of Stage Poster, the ministry press service said here Friday.
The competition attracted both Bulgarian and international artists, each offering their unique interpretation of Bulgaria’s image. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the initiative is a form of investment in Bulgaria’s living culture, providing a creative platform for talent from around the world.
“We decided to launch this competition to see Bulgaria through the eyes of various artists. It's an investment in our living culture - a chance to support the professional growth of creative communities and create new jobs in the process. The result exceeded expectations. We received 144 entries from 11 countries. Each poster reveals a different, enticing, and inspiring face of Bulgarian tourism,” said Minister Borshosh.
A prize fund of EUR 10,000 was distributed among the winners. Cash awards of EUR 2,000 each were presented to Strahil Dimitrov (for a series of 3 posters), Lyuba Haleva (for 2 posters) and Nasko Atanasov (for 1 poster)
Additionally, eight awards, each worth EUR 500, were handed to participants, including Radoslava Boor (Bulgaria/Czech Republic) and artists from Bulgaria, China, and Poland.
The posters created for the competition will be used as part of future promotional campaigns for Destination Bulgaria. They will be displayed in galleries, diplomatic missions, tourism offices, airports, online platforms, at international fairs, and in various other promotional activities organized by the Ministry, the statement added.
