Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has advised travelers to and from Portugal to stay informed due to announced strike actions across the country. The warning comes after trade unions declared strike action involving ground handling staff from the company SPdH/Menzies.

The strikes will affect operations at airports in Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal, and Porto Santo during five separate timeframes between July 25 and September 1, 2025.

Earlier this week, the Ministry also issued a warning regarding a national aviation sector strike in Italy, expected to take place between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM local time on Saturday. The action may result in significant delays and cancellations of both domestic and international flights, along with disruptions in ground services.
