site.btaSports Minister Peshev Meets with Cuban Ambassador

Bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Cuba serve as a tool for cooperation, a means of strengthening cultural dialogue, and a platform for sharing experience and ideas in the fields of sports, culture, and youth development, Youth Minister Ivan Peshev said during a meeting here with Cuban Ambassador to Bulgaria, Marieta García Jordan, quoted by his ministry.

The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in sports, exchange of experience and best practices between the two countries. Discussions also included prospects for joint initiatives, sporting events, and youth sports development programs, as well as options for training exchanges between coaches and athletes.

“Combating addictions among children and adolescents is a priority in our work. It is essential to ensure the best possible conditions for the future realization of young people, for engaging their free time constructively, and for supporting their active role in public and social life,” Minister Peshev said.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Cuba.

“This important milestone is another reason to strive for deeper cooperation and mutual understanding between our two countries,” said Ambassador Marieta García Jordan.
