Bulgarian violinist Vasko Vassilev and soloists from the Royal Opera House (London) will perform a classical acoustic concert on May 26 in the Gustave Eiffel Room of the Eiffel Tower. Musicians of five nationalities - French, Japanese, Austrian, British, and Bulgarian - will meet on stage to celebrate together one of the brightest Bulgarian holidays - May 24 (Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of the Slavonic literature), and to celebrate with music the 20th anniversary of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Paris, its director Desislava Bineva said on Thursday.

The event is a production of the BCI-Paris, whose gallery since 2004 has been a meeting place for friends of Bulgarian culture from different countries, and its mission is to support and develop an environment and dialogue with an international audience, to seek and develop forms for the presentation of Bulgarian traditions and contemporary art.

Four of the finest soloists in the Royal Opera House Orchestra in London will perform with Vasko Vassilev: Florence Garel (violin), Kaoru Yamada (violin), Matthew Kettle (viola), Gundula Leitner (cello). The concert programme includes works by Vivaldi, Bizet, Brahms, Sarasate, and Saint-Saens.
