site.btaBGN 49 Mln Provided for Increase of Salaries at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, State Universities

At its sitting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers approved an additional BGN 49,000,000 to increase the salaries of scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and state universities. Of the total amount, BGN 10,000,000 are earmarked for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and BGN 39,000,000 for the state universities.

Thanks to the funding, the salaries of 2 ,271 academic staff of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and 12,070 academic staff in 33 state higher education institutions will be increased. The approved funds are part of the State's efforts to develop the research sector and academic staff and are also linked to improving the quality, efficiency and benefits of the country's scientific and expert potential.
