site.btaNew Short Film by Bulgaria's Al Jazzar Selected for IndieX Film Festival Competition in Hollywood
The film Restavrazov by Bulgarian filmmaker Adrian Al Jazzar has been selected to compete in the Best Comedy Film and Best Cast categories at the IndieX Film Festival in Hollywood in January, Al Jazzar told BTA.
He said the film is a metaphor for how the generation formed under the communist regime finds it difficult to enter the new era, as it fails to overcome technological barriers and does not tolerate development. The film tells the story of a restorer who is obsessed with the idea of repairing old equipment and decides to bring a forgotten local radio centre back to life.
The IndieX Film Festival is an international short film festival based in Hollywood, which honours independent artists every year. All films are judged by a jury of film professionals in Los Angeles.
Al Jazzar, who lives in Silistra (Northeastern Bulgaria), has won several awards for his short films in recent years, the most successful production being Hollow Life, which won the Hollywood Gold Award Super Short.
