Inna Eftimova:
"I Was Glad to
Participate in the Sprints"

Sofia, August 2 (BTA) - The highlights from the Bulgarian participation in the August 2 events of the Tokyo Olympics follow here:

Bulgarian track and field sprint athlete Inna Eftimova dropped out in the women's 200-metre event in the Tokyo Olympic Games. Eftimova finished 33rd in 23.42 seconds on Monday, only a hundredth of a second slower than her seasonal best. She said she was satisfied with her performance.

"I am satisfied with this run. I am glad to be here and get a chance to compete in the 100 and 200 metres. It wasn't easy, but I am glad I was so close to my personal best, and I think I did well in both sprints," said Eftimova, who represents Bulgaria at the Olympics for the second time after her debut in Beijing 2008.

BTA special correspondent Dimiter Velyov contributed to this story from Tokyo.
