site.btaCentral Bank Puts Out Coin Commemorating 100 Years of Athletics in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian National Bank announced putting out a BGN 10 coin commemorating 100 years of athletics in Bulgaria. This year organized athletics in Bulgaria is celebrating its centenary.

The coin is made of Ag 999/1000 and weighs 23.33 g. Its diameter is 38.61 mm. The mintage is 5,000. 

The obverse of the coin features the BNB logo with the year ‘1879’ on the strip in the centre; the nominal value BGN 10 (in Bulgarian) on two lines below and the year of issue ‘2024’ underneath. The text "Bulgarian National Bank" in Bulgarian is inscribed in circumference on the top.

The reverse of the coin features three athletes against the background of the number ‘100’ depicted in the centre; in circumference: inscriptions ‘100 ГОДИНИ’ (100 years) on the top and ‘ЛЕКА АТЛЕТИКА В БЪЛГАРИЯ’ (Athletics in Bulgaria) on the bottom.
