site.bta12th Balkan Wine Festival 2023 Takes Place in Sofia on June 22-24

Between June 22 and 24, the Balkan International Wine Festival will turn Sofia into a centre of wine culture and culinary delights, presenting the best wines from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkiye, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Moldova and Armenia, the organizers said. The 12th edition of the event begins on Thursday and will continue until Saturday, in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK).

On its first day, the festival will welcome guests from 5 pm, with the musical program including three sessions of jazz music by saxophonist Mike Sax at 7pm.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the Balkan Wine Oscars 2023 awards ceremony, which will take place on Thursdat at 8:30 pm. 

The festival will continue on June 23, from 5 pm, with wine tastings and a special presentation by Antoaneta Genova from the Ahinora Winery, who will present the new Wine Map of Bulgaria: Western and Central Danubian Plain.

The event will end on Saturday, June 24, when it will last all day, from 1 pm. At 6 pm, wine lovers will be able to hear a presentation by Kaloyan Gyupchanov, representative of the Borovitsa Winery.

"The Balkan International Wine Festival ranks among the most prestigious world wine events and has an extremely important role for the Bulgarian wine industry. It is the place where producers, experts and wine lovers from all over the world meet and interact, creating a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experience," Galina Niforou, director of the Balkan International Wine Competition and Festival, said in an interview with BTA.
