Bulgaria’s caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova has signed a letter of intent for this country's accession to the Multilateral Convention to Facilitate the Implementation of the Pillar Two Subject to Tax Rule (STTR MLI), Petkova’s Ministry said on Thursday.

The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris in the presence of OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann.

"This achievement is a major success for all members of the Inclusive Framework on the OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS). We affirm our commitment to the international efforts of the G20 and the OECD to address the challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy and to implement the OECD two-pillar solution," Petkova said.

Bulgaria is an associate member of the Inclusive Framework on BEPS. Its participation in this international initiative has greatly enhanced its reputation as a transparent tax jurisdiction that upholds and implements high tax standards, the Finance Ministry added.
