Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh Friday opened the summer tourist season in Chepelare as part of the national initiative “Summer in the Mountains 2025”.

This is the first time the Ministry has organized a major event to open the summer season in the mountains, Minister Borshosh said. He emphasized that the municipality of Chepelare was chosen as the starting point for the national initiative because it is an example of a truly functioning municipality.

"We are proud of everything Chepelare does," Borshosh told the residents of the Rhodope town. According to him, Chepelare is developing tourism not only because of its natural resources, beautiful nature, and clean air, but also as a result of the good conditions created jointly by local and state authorities.

Miroslav Borshosh told journalists that his Ministry is committed to the idea of developing year-round mountain tourism, which would give a serious boost to the local economy.

The Tourism Minister predicted a very good summer season in the country.

Chepelare, a town with Olympic traditions in sports, is now also a preferred destination for summer tourism, said the mayor of the town, Boran Hadzhiev, at the opening. According to him, tourists are attracted by the fact that the mountains offer not only breathtaking views, but also real gifts for the body and spirit - clean air, coolness on hot summer days, medicinal herbs, silence, and tranquility. Walks in nature, outdoor sports, and climatotherapy are priceless for health and create a feeling of harmony and lots of energy, Boran Hadzhiev added.
