site.btaGovernment Appoints New Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Bangladesh

The Council of Ministers has decided to relieve Tanveer Imam from his duties as Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Dhaka, Bangladesh and to appoint Ziaul Haque as the new Honorary Consul covering the entire territory of Bangladesh.

Mr. Haque is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, Managing Director of a group of companies operating in the fields of textile and garment manufacturing, real estate, communications, consultancy, and investment. He is a member of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and several other associations.

The appointment of Mr. Haque will support the activities of Bulgaria’s Embassy in Delhi, which is also accredited to Bangladesh, and will contribute to the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the areas of culture, education, tourism, and sports. It will also aid in the protection of the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens in Bangladesh.
