The preparation for the June 9 elections is progressing normally and on time, Central Election Commission Deputy Chair Rositsa Miteva told a news briefing here on Tuesday. A total of 24 parties and coalitions as well as one independent candidate nominated by a steering committee have registered for the European Parliament elections thus far.
A list of signatures has been submitted; once checked, a decision on the registration of the applicant in question will be taken, Miteva also said.
The deadline for registering candidate lists for both the European Parliament and snap general elections is 5 pm on Monday, she recalled.
