Sofia Library will unveil a documentary exhibition entitled Literary Europe here on Thursday to celebrate Europe Day, the library said. The exhibition will be open until May 15.

The exhibition focuses on the cultural diversity of European literature, the common spiritual connection between the work of Bulgarian writers and intellectuals and that of notable European authors. The exposition presents both unique editions in Bulgarian and a number of translated editions of Bulgarian authors such as Yordan Yovkov, Georgi Gospodinov, Blaga Dimitrova, Alek Popov, Damyan Damyanov and Elisaveta Bagryana.

The exhibits include a copy of Alessandro Piccolomini's comedy Alessandro, which is the library's oldest edition, first translated editions of Bulgarian classic writers, including Ivan Vazov's Under the Yoke from 1894, books by Aleko Konstantinov and Pencho Slaveykov, signed editions and ex-libris.
