Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev held a video conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal, the press centre of the Council of Ministers said on Tuesday.

" Bulgaria will maintain its firm support for Ukraine. From the very beginning of this unprovoked war, Bulgaria has consistently provided assistance to Ukraine at all possible levels - political, financial, military, humanitarian and diplomatic," Glavchev said to Shmyhal.

Glavchev expressed a firm position on Bulgaria's unwavering support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. The Ukrainian Prime Minister thanked on his own behalf and on behalf of his people for the support that Bulgaria is providing.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister confirmed that he will take part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in early June this year in Berlin. The main objective of the event will be to mobilize international support for the reconstruction, reform and modernization of Ukraine after the end of the Russian aggression.  Glavchev said that representatives of the Bulgarian business will also attend the conference in the German capital.

He was adamant that the Bulgarian State supports the peace formula presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It is a conceptual plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine and achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace based on preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity.

The ties between the two countries, which are further strengthened by the Bulgarian historical diaspora in Ukraine, which numbers about 200,000 people, were also noted during the talks.
