The Regional Archaeological Museum in Plovdiv unveiled the exhibition Power and Strength. The Late Bronze Age in Our Lands on Tuesday. Part of the exhibition is the Valchitran treasure, which is the largest Thracian gold treasure discovered in Bulgaria.

Visitors will be able to see a total of 166 artifacts from the collections of the Archaeological Museum and the Museum with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences until November 18.

Curator of the exhibition Ekaterina Ilieva said that the goal is to show the historical subtext, in which the treasure appeared, and why it is so significant for historical education. She said: "The discovery of the bronze alloy transformed life, it was significant for agriculture, for military activities, it founded trade routes".

The Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archaeology and Tourism in Plovdiv Municipality Plamen Panov congratulated the museum staff for their initiative and expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the Valchitran treasure at a time, when the city is full of tourists.
