Bulgarian Consul General in New York Angel Angelov was elected member of the Executive Committee of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York and Vice President of the Europe I Regional Group, Angelov wrote in Facebook.

The Society was founded in 1925 and comprises the diplomats of the largest consular corps in the world. Its mission is to protect the interests and rights of the members of the diplomatic corps of the Consulates General based in New York, and to promote cultural and economic relations between the countries represented and the United States. The Society works in conjunction with the U.S. Department of State's Office of Foreign Missions and the New York City Mayor's Office.

The Consulate General of Bulgaria actively participates in many events organized by the Society.
