Partnership Agreement on Sustainable
Tourism in Lower Danube Region Signed
in Calafat


Pleven, Northern Bulgaria, November 26 (BTA) - A Partnership
Agreement on Sustainable Tourism in the Lower Danube Region has
been signed in Calafat (Romania) at a conference on strategic
partnership between Bulgaria and Romania, BTA learned from the
Pleven-based Perpetuum-Mobile Foundation.

The Foundation was a partner responsible for the participation
of the regions of Pleven, Vratsa, Silistra and Dobrich in the
forum. It was attended by more than 150 representatives of the
Danubian regions of Bulgaria and Romania. They were familiarized
with the masterplan for development of sustainable tourism
along the Lower Danube.

The agreement was signed by representatives of municipalities,
regional administrations, tourism associations, tour operators,
information centres, museums, foundations, NGOs and institutes.
They agreed to develop sustainable tourism through concerted
efforts in the Lower Danube Region in the 2014-2020 period.

The Perpetuum-Mobile Foundation is implementing a project for
Cross Border Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Tourism in
the Southwestern and Northwestern Region of the Lower Danube,
financed under the Bulgaria-Romania Cross Border Cooperation
Programme 2007-2013. It works with five organizations from the
two countries to develop sustainable tourism by tapping the
natural, tourism, cultural and historical potential of the
municipalities along the Danube. LI/DD
