Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov Thursday told journalists in Parliament that "two-in-one elections are still theoretically possible, all is in the hands of the President". According to him, it is good that snap parliamentary elections are imminent, what is left is to know when they will be held.

Kostadinov described as "bad news" that it is not known exactly how the caretaker cabinet will be formed. According to him, it is one of the "bombshells" set in the governance of Bulgaria in general from now on by the "big constitutional specialists" from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC- DB), Kostadinov said.

President Rumen Radev's task is not at all easy in this case, Kostadinov added. He said that the biggest problem is that Bulgaria finds itself in an "absolutely unprecedented situation" in which it will have a government that will bear absolutely no political responsibility.

He also said that the caretaker prime minister would be chosen by Radev, only from a list that in practice has already been drawn up by GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms.

Under Article 99 of the Constitution, when no agreement on a government has been reached, the President, in consultation with the parliamentary groups and on the proposal of the candidate for caretaker Prime Minister, appoints a caretaker government and schedules new elections within two months. Following the amendments to the Constitution, the Head of State may choose the caretaker Prime Minister from among the Parliament Chair, the Governor or Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, the President or Deputy President of National Audit Office and the Ombudsman or his deputy.
