1975: Bobovdol thermal power plant, designed entirely by Bulgarians, is brought on stream.

2000: Bulgaria and Romania sign declaration on construction of second bridge across the Danube at Vidin-Calafat. Inaugurated June 14, 2013.

2002: Honorary Consulate of Belarus opens in Burgas (on the Black Sea), covering Varna, Dobrich and Burgas consular districts.
