The 15th International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC) will be held in Plovdiv on April 9 and April 10, said the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals on Friday. The conference will gather experts and professionals in wine tourism from all over the world.

According to the organisers, Bulgaria, with its rich history of winemaking and diverse terroirs, has emerged as an exciting destination for wine tourism. The conference will highlight the Bulgarian wine industry, focusing on the wine regions around Plovdiv, and participants will have the opportunity to explore the vineyards, taste wines and enjoy the local cuisine that complements the flavours of the wines.

"I am truly delighted that the 15th edition of IWINETC is taking place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The region's dedication to producing exceptional wines and creating memorable wine tourism experiences makes it the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event," said IWINETC Director Anthony Swift.

The conference, which will be conducted entirely in English, will include a range of over 20 meetings, practical sessions, seminars and tastings led by established wine professionals and experts, said the organisers. Participants will gain insight into the latest wine tourism trends, sustainable practices and innovative approaches to wine tourism marketing. An exhibition featuring the latest resources and destinations from around the world will also be opened during the conference.

IWINETC is an annual event that brings together wine and culinary tourism industry professionals from over 50 countries. The conference provides a platform to create professional contacts and share knowledge and experience. In 2023, the conference was held in Tarragona, Spain.
