Milov Drops Out of
Olympic Wrestling Competition after
Saravi's Loss to Aleksanyan

Tokyo, August 2 (BTA special correspondent Dimiter Velyov) - Bulgarian wrestler Kiril Milov lost his chances at a bronze medal in repechage in the Tokyo 2020 wrestling competition, after Mohammad Hadi Saravi (Iran), who defeated Milov earlier, lost in the semifinals on Monday.

Milov lost in the 1/4 finals to Saravi and only a victory for the Iranian against defending champion Artur Aleksanyan (Armenia) could have given the Bulgarian a chance to stay in the competition.

Earlier Milov said he had hoped to perform better at the men's Greco-Roman 97 kg event on Monday. "It wasn't my day. I hope Saravi wins his next match, so I can have a chance at the bronze medal. If he loses, the Olympics are over for me," Milov said and apologized to all his Bulgarian supporters for letting them down.
