site.btaSocial Policy Ministry to Fund 105 Projects Supporting Over 20,000 People in Need

The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy said here on Monday that it will finance through the Social Protection Fund 105 projects worth BGN 4.878 million to improve the provision of social services. The projects will support over 20 000 people in need.

The Fund's Board of Directors approved the projects of 50 municipal and private social service providers for renovation and creation of appropriate and efficient social infrastructure of the premises for provision of services and for improvement of the quality of the activities implemented in them. For the first time, this component allows for the purchase of a vehicle that will support the care of those in need as well as the provision of mobile social services.

The projects of 55 municipalities have also been approved, which will enable them to purchase new vehicles for the domestic social patronage to deliver food to people in need or to improve the facilities and working conditions of the social service. The efforts of the municipalities that manage the social patronage and prepare and deliver the hot meals with their own resources are supported under the Food and Basic Material Assistance 2021-2027 Programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
