Annual inflation in the EU slowed to 2.6% in March 2024 from 2.8% in February 2024, Eurostat reported on Wednesday. Annual inflation in the euro area slowed to 2.4% from 2.6%.

Annual inflation in the EU was 8.3% and 6.9% in the euro area in March 2023.

For Bulgaria, preliminary Eurostat data, based on the Harmonised index of consumer prices, showed an annual inflation rate of 3.1% last month, compared with 3.5% in February 2024 and 3.9% in March 2023.

On April 15, the National Statistical Institute reported that annual inflation in Bulgaria in March 2024 against March 2023 stood at 3.0%, according to early estimates.

Inflation in Bulgaria was 0.2% in March 2024, month-on-month.

Bulgaria ranks 12th in the annual inflation rate among EU member states. Annual inflation fell in 13 EU countries, remained unchanged in 4 of them and rose in 10, Eurostat reported.
