Burgas Airport will open the active flight season with the first flight since Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area by air on the last day of March, said the concessionaire company Fraport Twin Star Airport Management. 

The first tourists will arrive from Poland on a low-cost Ryanair flight. This year, the airline will operate 10 routes. The beginning of the summer flight schedule at Burgas Airport will be set on March 31 with flights from Krakow (Poland) and London Luton (Great Britain). Flights from Vienna (Austria) will begin from April and  flights from Kaunas (Lithuania) and Warsaw Modlin (Poland) will begin in May, while Dublin (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Poznan and Gdansk (Poland) will start in June.

In the 2024 summer season, another low-cost airline, Wizz Air, will also operate flights connecting Burgas Airport with 9 destinations in 5 countries, namely: Vienna (Austria), Budapest and Debrecen (Hungary), Gdansk, Katowice, Lublin, and Warsaw (Poland), Tel Aviv (Israel) and London Luton (UK), which runs year-round.

On April 28, for the first time, Discover Airlines will start regular flights from Frankfurt to Burgas, which will be operated twice a week. Thus, in addition to direct flights to the German city, as part of the Lufthansa group, the airline will offer opportunities for connecting flights to many destinations around the world, the concessionaire of the Burgas airport pointed out.

The easyJet low-cost airline will renew its summer flight schedule to Burgas on May 12 with flights from Manchester (Great Britain), and in the last week of June it will also renew flights from two European capitals - London Gatwick (Great Britain) and Berlin ( Germany).

The Bulgaria Air national airline will resume regular flights Sofia - Burgas on June 2, which is 3 weeks earlier compared to 2023. At first they will operate twice a week, ten five times a week after June 17. 

In the middle of June, Eurowings will renew its flights from four German cities to Burgas - Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne and Hamburg, and at the beginning of July, flights from Salzburg (Austria) will also be added to the schedule.

Burgas Airport added that the first charter flights are expected to start in the first half of May. The first organized tourists of the season from Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Poland are expected to arrive, and from the second half of May charter flights from Germany will also begin. For the first year, the airline Fly Lili will operate charter flights from Germany, Poland and Czechia to Burgas Airport. After a 10-year break, the tour operator company TUI will once again operate flights to Burgas from the German city of Hanover.

This summer season, direct flights from Madrid to Burgas will also take place. For the first time in the history of the Airport, charter flights will operate from Porto (Portugal). Another completely new market is Kosovo, with the first flights from the capital Pristina expected in June. Another completely new airline for Burgas Airport is FlyOne Armenia which will operate charter flights from the Armenian capital, Yerevan.

A positive trend with a double-digit percentage growth of tourists from Great Britain is expected, thanks to declared flights from 18 destinations in the United Kingdom to Burgas. During  this summer season, the British tour operator and airlines Jet2Holidays  and Jet2.com have announced a significant increase in their capacity to Burgas with a new route from Liverpool.

After the success of last year's regular flights from the Latvian capital Riga to Burgas, this year the national airline of Latvia, Air Baltic, will add another route from the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. Flights from the two Baltic capital cities to Burgas will operate twice a week and will start at the end of May.
