The National Vocational High School of Printing and Photography (NVHSPP) celebrated its 100th anniversary on Thursday evening with an event in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture, NVHSPP said.

The celebration began with a screening of a short film on the school’s history.

"Today, we can proudly say that our school has established itself as the only school in the country training specialists in printing and photography," NVHSPP Director Tsvetanka Apostolova said. She addressed the graduates of the class of 2024 and greeted all students, teachers, and guests attending.

Deputy Minister of Culture Viktor Stoyanov and Deputy Minister of Education and Science Emilia Lazarova, who were among the official guests at the event, presented Apostolova with congratulatory addresses on behalf of caretaker Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov and caretaker Minister of Education and Science Galin Tzokov.

The school received congratulations on its anniversary from Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev, National Inspectorate of Education Director Anelija Andreeva, the Sofia City Regional Department of Education, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, and the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music (LPNSM), to name a few.

The event’s festive programme included various musical, dance, and art performances. Artist Bogomil Spirov of the Stefan Makedonski State Music Theatre and students from LPNSM and Plovdiv’s National School of Dance Art participated in the anniversary celebration, along with students from the National Vocational High School of Printing and Photography.

A special issue of the school newspaper was presented, along with an exhibition of photographs, posters, and animations created specially for the celebration.
