At the National Centre for Polar Research (NCPR) with the Sofia University of St. Kliment Ohridski", NCPR Director Dr. Christo Pimpirev met with French Ambassador Joël Meyer at the latter's request, the NCPR said. The two sides discussed joint initiatives for the Third UN Oceans Conference in Nice in June 2025. 

With its naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii, in the past two years Bulgaria joined the sea-faring nations researching the world's ocean, and is therefore a sought-after partner for international projects related to ocean sciences, said NCPR.

On Thursday, Dr. Pimpirev met with the Sofia-based Ambassador of India.
