A proposal tabled in the National Assembly envisages no regular sittings and meetings of parliamentary committees during the election campaign. The draft amendments to the Rules of Organization and Activity of the National Assembly were tabled by MPs of GERB-UDF and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, it transpires from Parliament's website.

The idea is to ensure equality between those running in the elections during the election campaign.

Under the draft revisions, the National Assembly Secretary General has to carry out Parliament Chair's urgent administrative functions while the National Assembly does not hold sittings.
