The national early warning system will be tested Monday at 11 a.m., the press centre of the Interior Ministry said Sunday.  

On October 2 at 11:00 the siren system for early warning and notification of the population will be activated in Sofia, Burgas, Varna, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Galabovo, Tsarevo, Akhtopol, the village of. Lozenets, Shabla, in the settlements in the 30-kilometer zone around Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, as well as in the sites with local warning systems integrated to the national system. 

The national alert and end-of-alert signals will be accompanied by voice announcements.

The Ministry of the Interior reminds that the system is tested twice a year, on the first working days of April and October. The aim is to check the technical condition of the siren system, to improve the skills for activating the system and broadcasting live information, as well as to train the population to recognize the signals.
