More than three-quarters of Romanians, or 76%, believe that the war in Ukraine is dangerous for Romania, 21.7% are of the opposite opinion, and 2.3% do not know or did not answer, according to the latest poll by the INSCOP polling agency commissioned by News.ro.

Supporters of the ruling coalition of the Social Democratic Party and the National Liberal Party and the nationalist Alliance for the Union of Romanians, women, people aged over 45, those with a university degree, and civil servants are of the opinion that the war in Ukraine is dangerous for Romania. Men, people aged under 45, inactive or potentially active, and people with higher incomes believe that the war is not particularly dangerous for Romania. A total of 59.8% said that Romania should invest more in its armed forces in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, while 36.6% disagreed and 3.6% did not know or did not answer.

The idea is backed by supporters of the ruling coalition of the Social Democratic Party and the National Liberal Party and the nationalist Alliance for the Union of Romanians, people aged over 45, people with higher education, residents of Bucharest and urban areas, civil servants, and people who do not have social media accounts.

Sharing the opposite opinion are young people aged under 30, people with primary education, inactive or potentially active, residents of smaller settlements, and people with lower incomes.

The INSCOP survey was conducted between February 22 and 29 through telephone interviews among 1,100 people from different socio-demographic categories aged 18 and older. The maximum margin of error of the data is ± 2.95%.
