site.btaPresident Radev Promotes Col. Kostadinov, Col. Petkov to Brigadier Generals
President Rumen Radev honoured Col. Rumen Petkov, administrative head and chairman of the Military-Appellate Court, and Col. Miroslav Kostadinov with the senior officer rank of brigadier general. By his decree, the head of State appointed Miroslav Kostadinov as Commander of the 2nd Mechanised Brigade, effective May 6, 2024.
“We are in a period of continuously complicating global security environment and growing risks facing the country due to the escalation of the war in Ukraine. This sets new, even higher requirements for the defence capabilities of the Bulgarian army and its leadership, for the modernization process of the Armed Forces, for the training of the personnel and for achieving a new, even higher level of compatibility with our allies. The new ranks and appointments are well-deserved recognition for your dedicated service and demonstrated leadership qualities and professionalism, for your contribution to the development of the Armed Forces and the consolidation of their authority,” Radev said in his address.
