site.btaVarna to be New Hub of EIT Food for Bulgaria

The University of Economics in Varna together with the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Varna are the new hub of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology in Food (EIT Food) for Bulgaria for 2024-2025, said the university on Thursday.

The two institutions have been approved after а partnership application was submitted at the beginning of 2024, as they have multiple participations in EU research and scientific projects as well as in events related to the institute's missions and entrepreneurship training, the university informed. Both institutions have an experienced and competent team and appropriate infrastructure, with specialists well versed in the challenges facing the agri-food sector.

The EIT Food Hub for Bulgaria is tasked with encouraging the country's innovative and entrepreneurial potential and promoting Bulgaria's performance internationally. The implementation activities of the EIT Food Regional Innovation Scheme for Central and Eastern Europe are coordinated by Poland.
