A poster exhibition by artist Georgi Iankov opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin on Thursday. The event titled "100x100" presents seven artworks with "previously non-existent images of animals", the Institute said.
"There are hundreds of thousands of images of these seven animals that are so popular around the world. They are constantly being viewed, liked, and shared online. But every self-respecting artist starts from nature in order to find their own original interpretation of the objects in the world around them," the organizers said ahead of the exhibition’s opening.
Georgi Iankov was born in Sofia in 1964. He graduated in poster art from the National Academy of Art (NAA) in 1990. Iankov has been a long-time lecturer at the Academy’s Poster and Visual Communication Department and has served as NAA Rector since January 2020.
