site.btaEU Commissioner for Innovation Zaharieva Will Pay Working Visit to Bulgaria on Thursday
European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva will visit Bulgaria on July 23, the press office of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria said. During her visit, Commissioner Zaharieva will hold meetings with Prime Minister Rumen Radev and President Iliana Iotova.
Her programme also includes talks with Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov and Tomislav Donchev, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Innovation and Digital Transformation.
The visit is part of the European Commission’s ongoing dialogue with EU Member States on the Union’s competitiveness priorities, with a particular focus on the role of startups, research, and innovation in the EU’s future long-term budget, as well as the opportunities these priorities present for Bulgaria.
The discussions will focus on the importance of competitiveness and innovation for Bulgaria, including preparations for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the Horizon Europe programme, and the role of national and regional authorities in building strong ecosystems for research, innovation, and startups.
