During a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday, Bulgarian caretaker Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky said in front of Bulgarian journalists that US President Donald Trump's demand for joining military operations to ensure freedom of navigation in Strait of Hormuz is toward US allies, and not NATO explicitly, following his statement on Monday. "Bulgaria has no such capacity, and we have not received such invitation," she added.

Neynsky expressed her doubts that solutions to the loan access initiative for Ukraine and the expansion of European sanctions against Russia will be found by Thursday, when the European Commission will convene.

The caretaker Minister is expected to visit Kyiv on March 31 and participate in bilateral meetings with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Regarding disinformation ahead of the upcoming snap parliamentary elections on April 19, Neynsky commented that she will insist on seeking EU's assistance in combating the issue, and that the caretaker government is fully committed to ensuring fair and transparent elections. She added that the Foreign Ministry wants to establish a centre for countering disinformation.

Neynsky concluded that Europe is united on the fuel prices issue, and seeking solutions. "Bulgaria has no problem with the supplies, but with the prices," she said.
