Bulgarian judoka won one gold and two bronze medals at the Skopje Junior European Cup on Saturday, the Bulgarian Judo Federation reported.

Nadie Jaafar claimed the title after securing three victories in the women's 70-kg category. In the first round, she defeated Greece's Sofia Xanthopoulou with an ippon in 47 seconds. On her way to the title, she also fought Hannah Mueller from Germany and Andrijana Sutovic from Montenegro.

This was Jaafar's first title for the season.

Denis Galabov won bronze in the men's 60-kg category in his fight against Turkiye's Necdet Salih Pala. Before that, Galabov won two of his bouts before losing to France's Romain Demoniere-Badie in the semifinal.

Andrey Ganchev also won bronze in the men's 73-kg category after defeating Belgium's Bjarne Wellekens. Ganchev lost in the semifinal to Germany's Raphael Akoto who went on to become the champion.

The tournament features 317 judoka from 33 countries. Bulgaria is represented by 20 fighters. Seven Bulgarian men and three women will compete on Sunday.
