Minister of Youth and Sports Encho Keryazov visited the Belmeken High-altitude sports training center in the Rila Mountain (Southwest Bulgaria), where he inspected the training conditions for Bulgaria's national badminton athletes and reviewed the operations of the facility. 

During the visit, discussions focused on the national team's preparations, the upcoming international competition schedule, and the next stages of training ahead of the European Badminton Championships, the Bulgarian Badminton Federation said here on Saturday.

From June 30 to July 12, the Belmeken training center is hosting a training camp for Bulgaria's national under-19 boys' and girls' badminton team, a key phase in the squad's preparations for the European Championships in August.

The athletes taking part in the camp are Elena Popivanova, Viktoriya Popova, Lili Radeva, Simay Mehmedova, Aleksandra Peykova, Georgi Ruptsov, Stiliyan Nanovski, Andrey Markov and Leo Spasov. The team is coached and led by Ivan Rusev.

Following the high-altitude training camp at Belmeken, the national team will complete two additional training phases in Parvomay and Sofia before departing for the European Championships, which will be held in Tatabanya, Hungary, from August 18 to 29.
