A protest against the euro changeover in Bulgaria was held at the entrance to the town of Gurkovo in the Stara Zagora region, near the Pass of the Republic, on Saturday.
The protestors said they represented civil society organizations and carried Bulgarian flags and posters reading "No to the Euro." Another poster, laid on the ground, read "Resign".
The road was open, with traffic being regulated by police teams. Police presence was increased and members of the gendarmerie forces were deployed to the area.
