Deputy Prime Minister and Economy and Investments Minister Alexander Poulev, Innovation and Digital Transformation Minister Ivan Vasilev and Energy Minister Iva Petrova are among the speakers at Webit 2026, scheduled to open at 9 am on Tuesday at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, the Webit Foundation said.

The ministers are expected to take part in a discussion panel on whether Bulgaria can become Europe’s AI development and innovation hub.

Business, technology, investment, institutional and entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders are gathering for one of the most significant events on the future of the economy and artificial intelligence in the region.

According to the organizers, in a world where AI is no longer a promise for the future but a real force changing countries, industries and companies, the conversation is shifting from whether to how: how countries will remain competitive, how companies will turn AI into real business results, and what trust, security, payments, banking, healthcare and work will look like in the new AI economy.

The Webit 2026 programme aims to cover all key dimensions of this transformation, from national strategy and digital sovereignty to infrastructure, regulation, corporate transformation and the real-life applications of artificial intelligence.

After the conference, the organizers are planning a gala evening bringing together the people, ideas and energy that drive Bulgaria forward. Entrepreneurs, executives of leading companies, representatives of institutions, innovators and people whose work contributes to the country’s development are expected to walk the red carpet.
