The world premiere of Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov’s film Black Money for White Nights took place at the 60th anniversary edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Bulgaria’s National Film Centre said on Tuesday.
Produced by Abraxas Film, the Bulgarian-led co-production with Greece was presented to an international audience and film professionals, making a strong impression with its first festival screening. The film, which explores post-Soviet society, was selected for the festival’s main competition and is competing for the Crystal Globe award. It stars Ivan Savov, Tanya Shahova, and Margita Gosheva, with cinematography by Aleksandar Stanishev.
The project was supported financially by Bulgaria’s National Film Centre.
