An exhibition by Indian artist Sasmita Mishra will be unveiled at the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) building in Sofia on March 14. Entitled NOAH, it will be on display until March 21, the UBA team said.

Describing her works featured in NOAH, the author says: "At the heart of a diplomat's nomadic life lies the search for a guiding light - a support that connects him to the earth. And for his partner, who is occasionally forced to change her home, the first sense of warmth comes from the local flora and fauna and the living creatures that inhabit this environment. But here comes a twist. Most of the paintings in this exhibition have a central image or motif that evokes and invites life. Many of them are intertwined with images from my homeland, India."

Sasmita Mishra Sahu is an Indian painter, graphic artist, and art historian. She works in the field of oil and gouache painting and creates graphic prints using woodcut and screen printing techniques. The artist has a Master's degree in economics (1992) and subsequently obtained a degree in international studies (1997). During this period, she lectured in economics and was a researcher at the National Council of Educational Research and Training in New Delhi. Throughout this time, she continued to develop her creative work. She opened her solo exhibition in Beijing in 2001, in London in 2007, and participated in a number of group exhibitions. In 2019, she obtained a Master's degree in art history at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Her research interests as an art historian are in the field of illuminated manuscripts from India from the 15th-16th centuries.
