site.btaGovernment Uncovers Apparent Years-Long Breach of Administrative Networks

The government has detected unauthorized access to some administrative networks during the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation’s ongoing work to implement the country’s new national cybersecurity system, the Ministry’s press service said Wednesday. Information available so far suggests that the activity may have continued for years.

A large-scale technical investigation is underway to determine the full scope and nature of the breach. Government institutions are also coordinating measures to strengthen cyber defences and protect the country’s digital environment.

The Ministry said citizens and organizations may send specific questions to cyber@midt.government.bg.
