Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova met with Marie Dumoulin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministry’s press office said on Thursday.
The two sides discussed the upcoming finalization of the new roadmap for the Bulgarian-French strategic partnership, which is expected to give fresh impetus to bilateral relations. They agreed that defence, energy and innovation should be key areas of cooperation in the coming years. France also expressed particular interest in partnership opportunities in the field of space technologies.
Petrova and Dumoulin also discussed the priorities of both countries within the European Union, including negotiations on the EU's next multiannual financial framework. They also reviewed EU enlargement issues, including the European consensus reached in 2022 and the need for its full implementation.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Dumoulin reaffirmed France's continued support for Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
