The parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms will table a motion to set up a parliamentary committee to examine information and circumstances surrounding alleged undue influence on political, economic, and public processes by the so-called Capital circle, led by Ivo Prokopiev, the party’s press office said.
“For nearly two decades, the term ‘oligarchic model’ has been consistently used in public and political discourse in reference to the so-called Capital circle, led by oligarch Ivo Prokopiev,” according to the motives cited in the press release.
“This circle has been pointed to as an integral part of governance processes in the country over a significant period after 2009, through the infiltration of individuals linked to Capital into the political system, as well as into the legislative, executive, local, and judicial branches of power,“ the party added.
“There can no longer be a gray zone in which key decisions about the future of the State are perceived not as the result of a public and democratic process, but of behind-the-scenes dependencies - a symbol of a captured State,” the press release said.
